Milah and Tickles

Description

Formerly known as 'Freaking Green Tiger' since that's what I kept saying to myself while working on it. Milah is the purple elf, and Tickles is the tiger.

:iconcommentplz::iconcritiqueplz: because feedback is more helpful than faves, though less ego stroking ;p

Ah, this was an experience. This is my brother's Night Elf hunter chick and his freaking green tiger that is his Christmas present, and if he doesn't spaz out completely I'll die inside. I about cried when I saw the screenshots he sent me - Aqua hair, purple skin, green and orange tiger... the color palette was not what I would have desired to say the least, and is the reason the armor is kind of drab in comparison.

Her armor is loosely based on the 'Stalker's Chain Battlegear' item set. I feel kinda bad for making it so skimpy, after all my grumping about unrealistic too sexy fantasy armor- but NE are meant to be half naked. And it's for a boy. And I wanted to do more purple skin- I've never done a purpley NE before :3

Before anyone compliments the tiger... I don't do animals and I got so frustrated working from the WoW screenshots (the models are terrible) that I traced the outline for the beast. Because I was running out of time. (I currently have about 12 hours in which I need to sleep, get up and clean the downstairs for the family coming into town, go get a print made, get a frame, and wrap it. final countdown time.) I am ashamed, but it just didn't look right without it.

I got so sick of this before I finished. xD It was one of those projects that I was like 'Oh yeah, this is a great idea!' and then 5 hours in realized I was in waaaay over my head. I was originally gonna do this without lines. I reconsidered.

Various tutorials perused as well. Specifically ones on painting fur and animals.

A few of the stages (the ones I remembered to save) are posted in my scrapbook here: [link]

I think I spent 5 days working on this. I'm going to be so glad to hand it off to my brother and not look at it again for a few months at least. I have totally reconsidered the idea of drawing my worgen toon; not gonna happen. xD

Edit: My brother thought it was really cool, so success! I found out that things appear brighter on my monitor than they print out, so some detail got lost, but it still looked super awesome :3
